Growing a Greener Glasgow

Opportunities

Want space to grow veg this year?

Meet people like you who want to grow their own food (or learn how) and keep active outdoors in our little urban oasis!

Join us for fitness fun outside

We are running two months worth of half hour fitness sessions to get this year off to a good start.

Tell us what you think about waste management and walking and cycling

South Seeds wants your views on how two local issues can be improved: waste management and walking and cycling. Come along to one of the sessions at our NEW office to take part. Refreshments provided and the first 50 people to come along get a free electricity monitor!

Celebrating the croft harvest

Join us to celebrate the harvest at the croft on the afternoon of Saturday 17 September.

How does the Warm Home Discount work?

The Warm Home Discount is a payment of £140 paid by participating energy providers into the electricity account of eligible customers to help with higher winter bills. Each energy provider opens their fund at different times and eligibility can vary too.

New fitness sessions at the Croft

Start a new highly enjoyable exercise class outside at our beautiful community garden – the Croft. Spending time at the Croft on Queen’s Park recreation ground, surrounded by the abundant raised beds full of fruit and vegetables, gives most people a good feeling about life. Doing 30 minutes of fitness there, is a guaranteed buzz.

Learn how to garden at Queen’s Drive Lane

Every Tuesday evening at 6.30pm, local people gather at a community garden about 50 meters along Queen’s Drive Lane from where it crosses with Langside Road. It’s not just the tea, coffee and quality biscuits they come for, it’s the opportunity to get gardening.

Could you be our fitness instructor?

South Seeds is looking to hire a fitness instructor to deliver 16 sessions over 8 weeks, between late August and October, at our community garden near Queen’s Park recreational ground.
