Growing a Greener Glasgow

Want space to grow veg this year?

Meet people like you who want to grow their own food (or learn how) and keep active outdoors in our little urban oasis!

South Seeds is continuing our popular adopt-a-bed scheme at the Croft: a lovely urban oasis and community garden on a disused tennis court next to Queen’s Park recreation ground. Following on from two successful growing seasons in 2015 and 2016 there will be 24 growing plots available from April to November this year.

Whether you are an individual or small group, beginner gardener or experienced but perhaps wanting to specialise, as long as you live within a 20 minute walk of the Croft we’d love to receive your application. We will provide support, advice and tools to everyone who feels they need it to make the most of their plot and at the end of the season we’ll celebrate all the crops you’ve harvested with an event.

Have a look at our Govanhill Gazette about the Croft to find out how other people got on with their plots in the first year of the scheme.

If you would like to express interest in taking on a plot this year, download and fill-in an expression-of-interest-form, or pick one up from our office, and email it to croft@southseeds.org. Alternatively, you can hand it in to the South Seeds office at 514 Victoria Road. The deadline to express interest is 3rd March 2017 at 2pm.
