Growing a Greener Glasgow

Welcome to South Seeds!

South Seeds is a community organisation based in Glasgow at Govanhill. We aim to work in partnership with residents and organisations within the local community to help improve the look and feel of the area. Under the climate challenge fund South Seeds are further developing the project to increase energy awareness and helping people learn more about growing food and reducing the amount of waste that we produce.

You can find out more about what we’re doing by visiting the projects section.

Here's what we've been up to

Is there still life in your old gadgets?

We are not looking for fridges or washing machines but those small electrical items which are at the back of cupboards or stuck in draws.

Campfire singalong

Join us at the Croft on Sunday 5 March for a singalong around a campfire.

All-party fuel poverty and energy efficiency group

South Seeds featured in the all-party fuel poverty and energy efficiency group prospectus highlighting good practice across the UK.

How we support residents to save energy in their homes

We have conducted more than 600 home energy audits on the southside of Glasgow to support residents save energy. Each home is different and the way residents use energy in their homes varies. We have collected a few case studies together to show the range of energy-related issues we have tackled.
