Growing a Greener Glasgow

Welcome to South Seeds!

South Seeds is a community organisation based in Glasgow at Govanhill. We aim to work in partnership with residents and organisations within the local community to help improve the look and feel of the area. Under the climate challenge fund South Seeds are further developing the project to increase energy awareness and helping people learn more about growing food and reducing the amount of waste that we produce.

You can find out more about what we’re doing by visiting the projects section.

Here's what we've been up to

Want space to grow veg this year?

Meet people like you who want to grow their own food (or learn how) and keep active outdoors in our little urban oasis!

Energy case studies

This booklet includes a collection of five case studies which explain how South Seeds has helped residents save energy or sort out energy bills. We were able to deliver this work to save energy and save carbon through funding from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge fund.

Join us for fitness fun outside

We are running two months worth of half hour fitness sessions to get this year off to a good start.

Improving Victorian tenement windows

This report tells the story of Raymond, Maria, Rashia and Sylvia who all received either double or secondary glazing through a one off South Seeds project. There are also top tips for improving your windows.
