Welcome to South Seeds!
South Seeds is a community organisation based in Glasgow at Govanhill. We aim to work in partnership with residents and organisations within the local community to help improve the look and feel of the area. Under the climate challenge fund South Seeds are further developing the project to increase energy awareness and helping people learn more about growing food and reducing the amount of waste that we produce.
You can find out more about what we’re doing by visiting the projects section.
Improving Victorian tenement windows
Last year a South Seeds project dramatically improved the lives of residents in Victorian Govanhill tenements by upgrading or replacing their broken and draughty windows.
Come to our Winter Warmer
Come to our office, at the park end of Victoria Road, for a cuppa, cakes from Bakery 47 and a chat about how to save energy in your home on Saturday 28 January between 2pm and 4pm.
Heavy or thermal curtains will help keep the heat in and save you money.
Finding out what residents think
South Seeds successfully applied to the Climate Challenge Fund for a development grant to conduct some consultation with local residents on waste and transport issues. We did street surveys, consultation workshops and monitored local social media groups. Our six page report explains how we consulted and what residents told us.
