Welcome to South Seeds!
South Seeds is a community organisation based in the South Central area of Glasgow. We aim to work in partnership with residents and organisations within the local community to help improve the look and feel of the area. Under the climate challenge fund South Seeds is further developing the project to increase energy awareness and helping people learn more about growing food and reducing the amount of waste that we produce.
You can find out more about what we’re doing by visiting the projects section.
Guide to prepayment meters
Here in the Southside of Glasgow, where two thirds of the residents rent either privately or from a social landlord, many people have prepayment meters for their energy supply. Read our guide to find out how they work, the advantages and the disadvantages.
Annual General Meeting
South Seeds is a charity and therefore it has members who meet formally once a year to set the direction of the organisation, at an annual general meeting. This year the AGM will be on Thursday 25 May at 7pm in the South Seeds’ brand new office on Victoria Road.
Guide to delivering home energy audits
This guide explains how we engage residents in thinking more about energy use in their home, deliver an audit in the home and relay our findings to support residents to consume less energy. There are also case studies and a sample checklist of actions we may recommend.
New southside composting facilities
Ever wondered how your potato peelings could help change the world? Wonder no more! You can help create compost by taking them, as well as your other vegetable peelings, tea bags, coffee grounds and even cardboard egg boxes, to South Seeds’ brand new composting hub at Queen’s Drive Lane community garden.
