Growing a Greener Glasgow

Welcome to South Seeds!

South Seeds is a community organisation based in Glasgow at Govanhill. We aim to work in partnership with residents and organisations within the local community to help improve the look and feel of the area. Under the climate challenge fund South Seeds are further developing the project to increase energy awareness and helping people learn more about growing food and reducing the amount of waste that we produce.

You can find out more about what we’re doing by visiting the projects section.

Here's what we've been up to

Learn how to garden at Queen’s Drive Lane

Every Tuesday evening at 6.30pm, local people gather at a community garden about 50 meters along Queen’s Drive Lane from where it crosses with Langside Road. It’s not just the tea, coffee and quality biscuits they come for, it’s the opportunity to get gardening.

Could you be our fitness instructor?

South Seeds is looking to hire a fitness instructor to deliver 16 sessions over 8 weeks, between late August and October, at our community garden near Queen’s Park recreational ground.

Building a bee and butterfly garden with Waitrose

On the sunniest day of the year so far, ten Waitrose partners from the Newton Mearns store helped South Seeds build a bee and butterfly haven in the densely populated Southside of Glasgow.
