Our handymen can make your home warmer this winter

South Seeds handymen can fit a range of energy saving measures that can save you money on your energy bills and significantly improve your comfort levels at home. We have a team of three handymen, experienced in fitting energy saving measures in Victorian sandstone tenements and can get to jobs within a 15 minute drive from our office, on Victoria Road.

How can we save you energy?

Draughtproofing your doors, windows and floors, fitting airtight glazing film or mounting a curtain rail which supports the weight of thermal curtains, are just a few of the installs which will allow you to maintain the same temperature at home by either turning your heating down or switching it on less.

Victorian properties can be draughty and filling the gaps in your property will keep your home warmer for longer, by eliminating cold draughts and stopping hot air escaping. Our handymen use hardwearing draughtproofing strips, that are designed specifically for wooden frames and are available in two colours to suit almost every door and window. We can draughtproof wooden floors and skirting boards. We also have solutions for draughts around PVC windows. Tell us where you have a draught and we can fix it.

Most Victorian properties have fireplaces connected to chimneys. We can stop all the warm air being sucked out of your property, through the fireplace, while still maintaining proper ventilation, by installing a specially designed chimney balloon. Once a chimney balloon is fitted, it is invisible and can be easily removed and reused.
