Simona was referred to South Seeds by Katarina, the community support officer at Govanhill Housing Association. Simona, her partner and their three young children were living in a privately rented flat that was bought by Govanhill Housing Association as part of an area improvement scheme.

Energy case studies

This booklet includes a collection of five case studies which explain how South Seeds has helped residents save energy or sort out energy bills. We were able to deliver this work to save energy and save carbon through funding from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge fund.  

Improving Victorian tenement windows

Last year a South Seeds project dramatically improved the lives of residents in Victorian Govanhill tenements by upgrading or replacing their broken and draughty windows.

Supporting migrants to understand our energy system

More than 20 migrants a week drop in to the South Seeds office for support to tackle a wide range of issues with their domestic gas and electricity supply – from no heating, to tampered meters or the debts of former residents.
