To mark the end of our successful growing season at the community garden at Agnew Lane, we are hosting an event for all volunteer gardeners and anyone who would like to become a volunteer gardener.
Halloween Spooktacular will be Tuesday 29th October. It starts at 6.30pm, when the light fades and finishes at 8.30pm, in time for all participants to get home before the spooks find them.
We will have hot soup and toffee apples. For the more adventurous there will be apple dooking and the old tradition of catching treacle scones with your mouth while blindfolded with your hands tied behind your back.
Robin South Seeds’ Community Development and Growing Officer and Reuben from Locavore, who both lead the gardening sessions, will be there, if you would like to find out more about how to get involved with Agnew Lane Community Garden.
This year Agnew Lane produced bumper crops of courgettes, peas, beans, potatoes, beetroots, strawberries and kale. We are already looking forward to next year’s growing season. Come along on Tuesday 29th and become part of it.
