Growing a Greener Glasgow

Welcome to South Seeds!

South Seeds is a community organisation based in Glasgow at Govanhill. We aim to work in partnership with residents and organisations within the local community to help improve the look and feel of the area. Under the climate challenge fund South Seeds are further developing the project to increase energy awareness and helping people learn more about growing food and reducing the amount of waste that we produce.

You can find out more about what we’re doing by visiting the projects section.

Here's what we've been up to

New office on Victoria Road

South Seeds have moved from the small office on Butterbiggins Road to a large corner unit at 514 Victoria Road. Come in and say hello.

Swapping incandescent for LED

We are grateful to Energy Action Scotland for a small grant to allow us to swap incandescent bulbs for LED bulbs when we are delivering home energy audits.

Finalist – Herald Society Awards

We are delighted to be a finalist at the Herald Society awards for our work  supporting migrants to understand the energy system.

Supporting migrants to understand our energy system

More than 20 migrants a week drop in to the South Seeds office for support to tackle a wide range of issues with their domestic gas and electricity supply – from no heating, to tampered meters or the debts of former residents.
