Best close in Govanhill

The Richmond Fellowship rent out supported accommodation in a close on Butterbiggins Road to people in a transitory period. Over the last two years Robin, South Seeds Community Engagement Officer, has been working with the people living in the supported accommodation to provide food growing opportunities and access support to reduce energy bills. Over this time the residents have come together at gardening sessions, got to know each other better and taken more pride in where they live. There was so much going on, last year a notice board had to be installed so information could be shared. This summer the close won the ‘Best Close in Govanhill’ award from Govanhill Community Development Trust. The residents were delighted.
