Growing food in Govanhill

Like many hidden spaces in Govanhill, the space behind the back courts of Dixon Avenue and Langside Road was full of dumped rubbish and windblown litter. Tenement champions

We are working with tenement residents to improve the energy efficiency of their whole close.
Draughty closes with broken windows, ill-fitting front doors and inadequate insulation can all lead to making tenement flats even harder to heat. We’ve created Tenement Champions to support neighbours in taking simple steps to save money on their energy bills. Neighbours benefit from our expertise in making tenement closes more energy efficient including signposting to government initiatives, prioritising work that will have the greatest effect and finding out if landlords within the building are properly registered.
If you live in a tenement close in Queens Park, Govanhill, Crosshill or Strathbungo and would like to work with us, then get in touch. Call Lorna on 0141 636 3959.
